They have grown accustomed to the routine and the reaction, and while there has been considerable debate in Tebow’s hometown over how the Jacksonville Jaguars ran second to the Jets in the sweepstakes for their local star, any consternation over that near-miss has not diminished the city’s abiding love for its favorite son. “This is where it began,” his high school coach, Craig Howard, said this week. Before Tebow won a Heisman Trophy at Florida or captivated the N.F.L. with the Broncos, he was a star on a tiny stage at Nease High School, introducing to a small audience what has become an oddly predictable and wildly popular routine.
