Backup to Starter to Phenomenon. Repeat. - Mania for Tim Tebow Rooted in Big Moments - NYTimes.com - Sam Borden -Here, about 1,000 miles south of the Jets’ practice facility in Florham Park, N.J., those who have followed Tebow the longest watch with amusement. They have grown accustomed to the routine and the reaction, and while there has been considerable debate in Tebow’s hometown over how the Jacksonville Jaguars ran second to the Jets in the sweepstakes for their local star, any consternation over that near-miss has not diminished the city’s abiding love for its favorite son. “This is where it began,” his high school coach, Craig Howard, said this week.
