I am very sad to hear the news today of Bobby Cox passing away. -- Bobby Cox was a great man and manager. And a great friend to me when I covered the Braves - Radio and TV Show. He was so kind and encouraging. I told him several times -- "If I ever go to the electric chair .. I want to have my last meal with you." At least I would be smiling. Bobby Cox was the Ultimate Encourager. We talked/visited many times -- Usually about 3 o'clock in his dugout office or the dugout before a 7 o'clock game. He was a guest on our radio show - The Coach and The Meck (Bobby Cox and Coach Oppert were teammates on the Panama City Fliers Minor League team). Plus Bobby was one of our first guests on my TV Show with Denny Neagle in Atlanta. He even did a podcast with me. He always had TIME for me. He was a blessing to me and so many. I wanted to go see him in the last few years but they limited his visitors due to his health and the covid virus. -- Bobby Cox had The Gift of Greatness -- The ability to make those around him feel great.
