Majority will hold Republicans to blame if sequester cuts occur: poll - NY Daily News - Dan Hirschhorn - That's according to a new poll from the Pew Research Center, which finds that Americans view the GOP as "too extreme" and "out of touch." - The findings could spell trouble for Republicans as they stare down Obama in a political game of chicken over the so-called "sequester," automatic spending cuts that are set to kick in Friday and threaten the fragile economy. Obama wants to replace them with a mix of tax revenues and spending cuts, while Republicans are refusing to accept any new tax revenues as part of a deal.
