Over the past 16 months, the Dothan mayor has made eight industrial recruiting visits to China on his own dime. "We lost jobs to China; we want them back," said Schmitz. "We want 'Made in Alabama,' and that's what we're working for." -- The Sunday-Monday summit at the downtown Embassy Suites focused on economic development and industrial recruitment. Huntsville Mayor Tommy Battle hosted the gathering, which also included Mobile Mayor Sandy Stimpson, Montgomery Mayor Todd Strange, Tuscaloosa Mayor Walt Maddox, Dothan Mayor Mike Schmitz and a representative from the Alabama Department of Commerce. --
