Dothan could help bring Chinese investment to U.S. - Dothan Eagle: News - Rittenberg, whose private firm has consulted with topic companies such as Levi Strauss, Microsoft and Intel, said the southeast Alabama city of Dothan could be the epicenter of a change in relations between the United States and China, built on jobs but held together with a greater cultural understanding. “Do it in Dothan. Build this bridge between these two economies,” said Rittenberg, a native of South Carolina. “The idea that we Southerners could build a bridge is exciting.” ---- the general manager of Nanjing Zijin-Lead Electronics, one of China’s leading 3D printer manufacturers, made waves Monday when he said he believed his company had made the right decision to locate in Dothan. “We will make much progress in a short time,” said general manager Lian Ning. Dothan Mayor Mike Schmitz said he is encouraged by Lian’s intent to locate in Dothan, but said much work still has to be done before a final deal is struck. Schmitz said he is looking forward to the official U.S.-China Manufacturing Symposium March 26-28. Schmitz said more than 500 Chinese companies are registered to attend. He said community involvement will be important.
