BIRMINGHAM, Alabama -- WJOX radio personality Paul Finebaum is suing parent company Citadel Broadcasting, claiming the company breached its contract with him when it filed for bankruptcy in December 2009 without his approval, according tofederal court documents that were unsealed today.

Finebaum's suit further claims that WJOX General Manager Bill Thomas later threatened to remove Finebaum's syndicated "Paul Finebaum Radio Network" from its affiliates, as well as Sirius/XM Satellite Radio, if he did not agree to reduce his share in the show's revenues.

The filing said that he agreed to contract changes only under duress and they "had great financial impact" on him.

"Citadel's unconscionable 'take it or leave it' threat and coercive tactics put Finebaum under extreme duress," the suit says.
