The Passing of Gary Carter: @LLS | The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society Community - Marty Siederer - Gary served as our National Sports Chairman for 15 years, and raised over $8 million (in honor of his wearing number 8 on his uniform) in support of our organization through a year-round calendar of fundraisers, including an annual celebrity golf tournament for our Palm Beach Area Chapter, promotions around the companies that involved him in their advertising campaigns, an annual fashion show that Gary’s wife Sandy organized with the New York Mets wives, and making his autographed baseball card available to fans for a $25 donation to LLS.

I met Marty Siederer in the 1980's with Gary Carter. Marty is a great man who helped Gary raise millions for The Leukemia Society.
Marty and Gary would come on my radio show in the 90's as we'd go live from Gary's golf tournament benefiting The Leukemia Society.
Gary, Denny Neagle and I did a commercial together in 1998 [Denny and The Meck TV Show] promoting The Leukemia Society.
As Marty stated, Gary raised over $8m thru the years in honor of his mother who passed away from Leukemia. She was only 36. And Gary was just 12. The Kid Is The Best. Always Will Be.
He Loved Helping and Giving to Others.

Marty Siederer and his wife Fran are wonderful - The Meck
