Woody Paige: Tim Tebow run out of Denver, but Broncos will never see another like him - The Denver Post - Tim Tebow — one of the most extraordinary athletes ever to pass through Denver — was run out of town Wednesday. It was all about pass and run — not about popularity, polarization, positive force and personality, faith, hope and charity, and mile-high regard. Everybody in the world knows Timmy can run. He produced that remarkable run to the postseason for the Broncos last season.

Private jets, 13 mansions and a $100,000 mobile home just for the dogs: Televangelists 'defrauded tens of million of dollars from Christian network' | Mail Online - Two former employees of the world's largest Christian television channel Trinity Broadcasting Network are accusing the non-profit of spending $50 million of its funding on extravagant personal expenses. Among purchases, the network founded by Televangelists Paul and Jan Crouch, is accused of misappropriating its 'charitable assets' toward a $50 million jet, 13 mansions and a $100,000-mobile home for Mrs Crouch's dogs. Their granddaughter, Brittany Koper, 26, recently filed her allegations in court after a brief appointment as the network's chief finance director in July.

Locals knew Tebow was destined for greatness - NYPOST.com - “Everybody knows him here, knows his message,” Wiles said. “Jacksonville would have been the easy thing for him. I’m glad he chose New York, just because it’s a bigger challenge for him. And there’s nothing Tim Tebow loves more than a challenge.”

Tebow in Babylon - NYTimes.com - Ross Douthat - Above all, did you think that Tebow himself, with his distinctive mix of missionary zeal and “give me the ball” confidence, would duck the Gotham opportunity? -- Why is Tim Tebow such a fascinating and polarizing figure? Not just because he claims to be religious; that claim is commonplace among football stars and ordinary Americans alike. Rather, it’s because his conduct — kind, charitable, chaste, guileless — seems to actually vindicate his claim to be in possession of a life-altering truth. Nothing discredits religion quite like the gap that often yawns between what believers profess and how they live. With Tebow, that gap seems so narrow as to be invisible. (“There’s not an ounce of artifice or phoniness or Hollywood in this kid Tebow,” ESPN’s Rick Reilly wrote last year of the quarterback’s charitable works, “and I’ve looked everywhere for it.”) He fascinates, in part, because he behaves — at least in public, and at least for now — the way one would expect more Christians to behave if their faith were really true.

Can Advertising Survive Digital? Yes—By Leaving ‘Mad Men’ Behind - The Daily Beast - The Internet, by giving consumers a voice, has rendered that strategy useless because consumers can now sink a brand with a blitz of online complaints. His advice to big brands: instead of pumping millions of dollars into advertising, why not invest that money into actually fixing your company? Don’t just say you’re great—actually try to be great. Once you’ve done that, you can use social media to spread the word.
