I mean, he doesn’t have any lawyers who know anything about federal law, gaming law, Indian law or any combination there of?” - Strange’s lawsuit, filed in Elmore County Circuit court, accuses the Poarch Band of engaging in illegal gambling and asks a judge to shut down its casino operations on the grounds that they are “a public nuisance.” - Rose said it was absurd for Strange to be filing such a lawsuit in state court. The Poarch Creek Indians are a federally recognized tribe, and as such are not subject to the state’s jurisdiction, he said. “This would be like deciding that Mexico is a public nuisance. It’s actually frivolous.”
