New York Mets To Honor Gary Carter On Opening Day; Ceremonial First Pitch Of 2012 Goes To Family, Moment Of Silence Planned At Citi Field « CBS New York - The Mets will honor the memory of former star Gary Carter with a pregame ceremony on Opening Day. Carter’s family will take part in the tribute on April 5 at Citi Field before the Mets play the Atlanta Braves. “We are thrilled that the Carters will be with us,” Jeff Wilpon, the team’s COO, said in a statement. “Mets fans will have the chance to pay their respects and remember all of his accomplishments.”
