The Sporting News, in a poll of his peers, has named Bobby Cox - Manager of the Year - 8 times.
Since 1936, when the magazine started balloting .. No other manager has won the award more than 3 times.
In May .. Bobby passed Mgr. Sparky Anderson [ 2,194] to become 4th all-time in wins.
The Hall of Fame will come calling one day - 1st ballot.

Meck: How tough was it for the Braves to trade a player like Saltalamacchia ..
Projected to be a real good ML Catcher - 25 HR's a yr. ?
Meck: The impact Teixeira has had on the clubhouse and team ? [3-Run Homer in his 1st game].
I noticed he's hitting almost 100 points higher from the right side ?
Bobby: 'He has a higher avg. from the right .. and more power from the left.'
Meck: Mahay is a 10 yr. vet .. outstanding LH pitcher you needed ?
Meck: Octavio Dotel throws gas from the right.
I noticed he's started 34 times in his career [ last in '01 w/ Astros].
Have you ever thought about maybe using him as a starter ?
Bobby talks about Dotel coming back from Tommy John surgery.
How's Smoltz doing and his shoulder ?
Meck: Can you talk about the Escobar play [ stealing 2nd] in Ariz. w/ 2 outs in the 9th.
Is that the greatest heads-up play you've ever seen ?
Bobby: 'It never hurts to be alert.'
'Never take anything for granted .. an offensive guy or defensive guy.'
Meck: Have you ever seen a guy play harder than Francoeur ?
'He [Frenchy] plays hurt, too.' 'You can always pencil him in.' - BC

Bobby: 'I think the world of Tommy and his family.'
'Seems like he's still a part of the Braves .. even though he's pitching for the Mets.'
Meck: Teixeira's fav player is Don Mattingly [23]Yanks 1st baseman. Tex wore # 23 w/ Rangers.
Have you heard if he and Matt Diaz [ # 23] have worked anything out ?
Meck: What number did you wear w/ the Yankees ?
