Bobby Cox: The only man in the history of sports to win 15 consecutive division titles.

The Sporting News, in a poll of his peers, has named Bobby Cox - Manager of the Year - 8 times.
Since 1936, when the magazine started balloting .. No other manager has won the award more than 3 times.
In May .. Bobby passed Mgr. Sparky Anderson [ 2,194] to become 4th all-time in wins.
The Hall of Fame will come calling one day - 1st ballot.

From the farm in Adairsville to Turner Field is usually about 1hr - 20 mins.
Today .. Snarled in construction traffic .. Almost 3 hrs to The Ted.
The Skipper usually arrives about 6 to 7 hrs. before the first pitch.

' I would never hire anyone unless they're smarter than me.'

Bobby: 'Our prayers should go out for Jim Beauchamp.'
' I just got off the phone with him. I try to talk with him at least every other day.' - BC
Bobby talks about Pitching Coach - Roger McDowell and Brian Snitker - 3rd Base Coach.
Chino Cadahia - Bench Coach and Terry Pendleton - Hitting Coach.
Plus Eddie Perez - BullPen Coach and Glenn Hubbard - 1st Base Coach.

He knows how to hang in there ?

How's Eddie's close friend Javy Lopez doing ?
Bobby: 'Javy still lives in Atlanta .. Still working out and He wants to play next year.
Hopefully somebody will give him a crack at it.' - BC

Meck: I remember him in New York. [ late 80's]
How's your ole Buddy .. Bobby Dews ? [ Dewsie]
Bobby: 'It's a delight to see him walk into the clubhouse.'
'Friendship is a BIG Thing in life. We can go thru life working and end up with one or two close friends.
Bobby's one of those for me.' - BC

How about Jeff Porter ? 'Bubba' [Head Trainer]
Bobby: 'Trainers are extremely important. Believe me.'
'Dave Pursley [ retired - longtime trainer] came by yesterday.'
' Dr. Chandler's retired.' - BC
Meck: Bill Acree .. The Equipment Mgr. has been with the Braves since 1966.
He's an Institution with the team .. isn't he ?
Bobby: 'He handles everything.' [Team Travel Dir.- Airlines, Hotels, Buses]
'Really .. He's the best ever in Baseball.'
Meck: How about Ed Mangan .. [The Dr. of Grass for The Super Bowl and Turner Field].
The Man who could grow grass on the interstate in one day [and you could putt on it].
Bobby: 'He's in charge of the Super Bowls. He's the best out there.'
' I can't say enough about having a nice field to play on.' - BC
Meck: During the games .. Ed is in your office by the dugout and watches the radar ?

Meck: Would you be surprised if I told you Walter Banks packed the [church] house in Dothan
[in January] and got a standing ovation ?
Mike Schmitz also asked Walter to speak to his employees.
Before we go .. Please tell us about your efforts to save Homeless Animals ?
Bobby:' If People want to contribute .. We take in all injured animals .. repair them
and try to find homes.'
'We raise the money and try and keep the Medicine and Dog Food flowing.' - BC
