Mike Schmitz Is Climbing Another Mountain ... This Time It’s Mt. Everest -- TheMeck
Just got this pic and text tonight (Tues) from my friend Mike Schmitz who is climbing Mt Everest - where its Wed morning Oct 2. Incredible. Kilimanjaro and now Everest. I remember Mr Schmitz telling me there are villages they would stop at going up the mountain. This pic is the last village.
He wrote -- 'At 11,400 feet it's extremely difficult.. and we haven't hit the high stages yet.. but doing good just keep moving!!) Go Go Go --- Last village .. tents from now on .. north of Mt Everest Basecamp to 18,400 ft. -- Mt Everest Basecamp is at 17,400 ft.'

It was Dec 31, 2012 when Mr. Schmitz and his son Michael reached the summit of Mt. Kilimanjaro - 19,341 feet - the tallest free standing mountain in the world. Amazing Accomplishment. -- Meck
