He also has a new deal with Panini America and has pending trademark requests for the use of “Johnny Football” and “The House That Johnny Built.” “It’s unusual for a shoe company to put this type of investment in someone before their rookie season,” said Ken Ungar, president and founder of U/S Sports Advisors. But, in Ungar’s view, Manziel is a can’t-miss from a marketing standpoint no matter which team drafts him. “It doesn’t matter whether he goes to a small, mid-sized or large market. That’s the strength of the NFL right now. The best most recent example is Peyton Manning who went to the 25th largest market (Indianapolis) and became one of the most popular players ever. He’ll energize the fan base where ever he goes,” explained Ungar.
