According to DOJ officials, the dismissal is necessary because of political weaponization against Adams and so that he can continue efforts to stop illegal immigration; it is believed at DOJ that the federal case hamstrung his abilities and took his focus away from his duties as mayor. @davidspunt @JakeBGibson
