 During his first four years as Dothan’s mayor, local businessman Mike Schmitz has proven that leadership begins with a positive attitude. He believes in Dothan. The city showed its confidence in him too – he won the mayor’s seat in 2009 with an astounding 86 percent of the vote, the largest margin of victory in Dothan’s history. In August he was re-elected for a second four year term after running unopposed (another first for a Dothan mayor). Dothan Magazine recently sat down with him to look back on the first four years of a mayor who is always looking ahead.
