It was Def Leppard's first gig of 2012, according to frontman Joe Elliott. "Be gentle with us," he said. The seven-song set included "Rock of Ages" and"Pour Some Sugar on Me" – both of which Def Leppard recently re-recorded for digital-music retailers – as well as"Foolin'" and the title track from their massive 1987 LP Hysteria. - Def Leppard did reach back to 1981's High 'n' Dry for "Let It Go" and "Bringin' on the Heartbreak." - Def Leppard also took questions from fans and revealed that they've rehearsed approximately 30 tunes for the upcoming tour.

Bad Week Aside, Female Voters Still Love Obama More Than Romney - The Daily Beast / Kirsten Powers - “One of the things we saw among independents is they see the Republican Party as much more extreme as they used to,” said Erickson of Third Way’s polling. “To the extent Obama can link Romney to congressional Republicans, those independent women will be with Obama. Romney needs to distance himself from some of the things that make the GOP seem so extreme” if he wants to win over these voters

Casey Martin, who needs a cart to play golf, earns spot in U.S. Open with win at sectional qualifier in Oregon  - NY Daily News - Hank Gola - Casey Martin rides again. Famous for winning a landmark 2001 case against the USGA to be allowed to use a golf cart because of a degenerative leg condition, Tiger Woods' old Stanford teammate qualified for next week's U.S. Open by snatching the first of two spots open at the Sectional Qualifier in Creswell, Oregon late Monday. Martin will return to the Olympic Club in San Francisco, where he played his only major in a cart 14 years ago. He’ll be allowed to use the cart in 2012, too.

2012 U.S. Open -- Casey Martin qualifies for Olympic Club -- 14 years after his only major appearance there - ESPN - Martin, who finished in near darkness and admitted he probably should have stopped and resumed in the morning, won a lawsuit in 2001 filed against the PGA Tour that went to the Supreme Court, allowing him the use of a cart in competition under the Americans With Disabilities Act. He had been granted an injunction in 1997 and qualified for the Open in 1998 at Olympic, where he tied for 23rd in his only appearance in a major championship.
