Lionel Richie courts Nashville for new record, but has 'Tuskegee' in mind (video) | Mary Colurso - Birmingham News - For Lionel Richie, there was exactly one choice. His 2012 record — a collection of country duets meant to reinvent, rearrange and reinterpret some of his signature songs — could only be called "Tuskegee." Some folks in the music industry tried to persuade him otherwise, but the Alabama native stood firm.
Tim Tebow is too powerful a force and he will eventually supplant Mark Sanchez as NY Jets starting quarterback - NY Daily News - Flip Bondy -The presence of three dozen television cameras and 250 media members spoke considerably louder on Monday than Tim Tebow, whose reedy voice doesn’t always carry as far as his wobbly passes. This was a big media event at the Jets’ practice facility in Florham Park, testimony to what is surely Tebow’s manifest destiny when it comes to the Jets’ starting quarterback job.
Shahid Khan Says Tim Tebow Didn’t Want To Play For Jacksonville Jaguars - Yardbarker - While Khan has been enamored with possibility of acquiring Tebow since he purchased the team back in November, Jaguars general manager Gene Smith has a different opinion of his talent on the football field. Smith showed Khan all of the scouting work he did on Tebow leading up to the 2010 NFL Draft and explained why he decided to pass on him with their first pick. Regardless of how Smith felt, Khan still felt compelled to make a play for Tebow. “He’s special to Jacksonville,” Khan said. In the end, however, Tebow felt that the Jets were going to provide him with the better opportunity to once again become a starting quarterback in the NFL. Tebow also pointed out in his introductory press conference on Monday that he felt more comfortable with the Jets coaching staff.

Jets’ Tebow Could Push Sanchez Forward, or Out of Lineup - NYTimes.com - Harvey Araton - With the poise and panache of a future political star, Tim Tebow ran through the probing questions of the devilish New York-area news media and did everything but kneel in the end zone of the Jets’ practice facility. Just about the moment he mirthfully suggested that we should “blame the guys upstairs” for the most celebrated introduction in the history of backup quarterbacks, it became apparent Monday that we were not going to lay a pecking index finger on him, much less sack him on one lousy issue, football-related or otherwise. He didn’t dodge them. He met them head on and walked away without a wrinkle on his new green tie
Cosell Talks: Tebow, Sanchez, & New York, New York : NFL Films Blog - Upon reflection, I believe Tim Tebow was traded to the right team. This is a football opinion, not one based on his marketing or cultural icon value. In many ways, Rex Ryan and the New York Jets are contrarians. Their profile runs counter to the accepted notion that the NFL is a passing league driven by the play of the quarterback. Their track record supports this point. In 2009, Mark Sanchez’s first season, the Jets were one half away from going to the Super Bowl. Sanchez was not very good as a rookie, but the Jets led the league in rushing and total defense.
