It was a great having Mr Tim Wilder - Dothan City Schools Superintendent on The Meck Radio Show last night. He gave an update on the Dothan City Schools and The Meck asked him about the so-called Accountability Act that was ram-rodded through in Montgomery. He talked at length about Magnet Schools in Dothan and his ideas and thoughts to bring about equality, a level playing field for all students. Very informative.

The Meck also asked Mr Wilder about a recent poll where a majority of Alabama teachers are in favor of having an armed guard at schools. Is he in favor of an armed guard at Dothan City Schools?
He shared his thoughts.
Plus The Meck asked his thoughts on improving the message/image of Dothan Schools through communication and technology. He also shared about the sports programs and the role they play.

Mr Wilder talked at length about the teachers and principals in the Dothan City Schools and his expectations. And how proud he is of them.

Dothan is my birthplace and my hometown. I graduated from Dothan High in 1974. It was close but I made it.
I believe we are fortunate to have a leader like Mr Tim Wilder.
A leader with a vision and goals to make our schools updated and ready for the future.

A leader who quit recess and doesn't play.
Creative, Innovative and not afraid to make a decision and lead. That's Tim Wilder.

Closing Thought:
I also asked Mr Wilder how someone could make a donation to Dothan City Schools or even leave a donation in their will or trust? Believe it or not, I've seen that in Blounstown Fla where a gentleman left millions in his will/trust for the schools and they built Blountstown High School (with his donations) over 20 yrs ago. It's a mindset and I believe that should and will happen in Dothan for our schools.
