In the fall of 1992, NewSong had the honor of performing at the Billy Graham Crusade in Portland, OR. I was so taken aback by Dr. Graham and his ministry influence that I started writing a song about his life and his legacy - “Hero of the Faith”. The other members of NewSong liked the song and wanted to honor his legacy too, so we ended up recording and releasing this song years ago. When I heard about Billy’s passing earlier today, my heart was obviously heavy but, at the same, filled with gratefulness for his faithfulness. It’s NewSong’s hope that this video tribute celebrates Dr. Graham’s life and expresses the inspiration he was to us all. NewSong's Eddie Carswell (February 21, 2018)
