There is something really wrong in Alabama when local law enforcement agencies take on the role of bullying the victims of major felony crimes - Donald V. Watkins

Donald V. Watkins In 2015, Megan Rondini made a rape report against Terry Jackson "Sweet T" Bunn, Jr. Police tried to make a felony criminal case against Megan in order to stop her from pursuing justice against Sweet T. Megan refused to be threatened and bullied by a Sheriff investigator. She courageously pressed on with her criminal complaint. Tuscaloosa Sheriff Ron Abernathy and former DA Lyn Head fixed the criminal case for the benefit of Sweet T.

In 2016, Adam Bailey was murdered by a drug trafficker. Last week, Tuscaloosa police arrested Adam's grieving father in an effort to stop his quest for criminal justice in his son's murder case.

There is something really wrong in Alabama when local law enforcement agencies take on the role of bullying the victims of major felony crimes.

Can somebody please contact Alabama Attorney General Steve Marshall and ask him to redirect the resources he is devoting to protecting cold statues of dead Confederate heroes to the protection of crime victims like Mike, Samantha, and Cindy Maher Rondini and Tim Bailey? Alabama needs an Attorney General who is not afraid of rich and powerful rapists, embolden murders, and well-connected drug and sex traffickers who roam the streets of Tuscaloosa without fear of criminal prosecution.

Unfortunately for the citizens of Tuscaloosa, current DA Hays Webb is a failure in office. He is too weak, compromised, and ineffective to protect them.

The key members of Tuscaloosa's law enforcement community have spent more time trying to discredit my reporting in the Megan Rondini rape case and the Adam Bailey murder case than they have spent on investigating and prosecuting the "suspects" in these cases.

The voters of Tuscaloosa County and the State of Alabama have an opportunity to rectify this tragic situation next year when they go to the polls to elect a Sheriff for Tuscaloosa County and an Attorney General for the State of Alabama.

There is also speculation that Tuscaloosa Mayor Walter Maddox may run for governor next year. If Adam Bailey's murderer goes free while Tim Bailey is prosecuted in Tuscaloosa Municipal Court on a highly questionable harassment charge, then the voters of Alabama must show their displeasure by defeating Maddox at the polls.

Enough is enough!
